Literature Text

You looked out the window
screams shook the building
the world slowed
flames licked at paper
at metal - at flesh.

Buildings falling fast
weary of standing amongst hell
gasps and flighted feet
run to escape the terror
of buildings that stand no more.

Twisted metal
a torn sculpture of pain
once monuments of power
lay only as debris
like snow in late-summer.

Hearts cry out
souls have been lost
among the snow that could never warm
the thousand hearts
forever torn apart.

A flame of hope
burns as the rubble is cleared
and as long as we all shall live
they will not die in vain
for tomorrow is always a brand new day.
Wrote this at the beginning of the day.
Finally able to write something about 9-11
It's taken my heart that long to find the emotions
I wanted to express.
I hope you all can appreciate this one...

I feel a crazy sense of fury and fire.
It's like a bomb hit and the fire is flying everywhere. There is no peace until after the smoke has cleared and several reason's to cry are evident. The smoke, ashes, the blood.
Tragedy

I feel in this poem.
